Thank you one and all, main sponsors, donors, advertisers, organizing committee and parents and Pallas Marketing, for what was our most ambitious and successful event in aid of Bennekerry National School which took place on November 18, 2016 when the Parents Association held “The 20K Drop Game Show”.

The “20K Drop Committee made up of the following parents Aisling McConnon, Liz Doyle, Georgina Brennan Stynes, Audrey McGrath, Catriona O’Reilly, Liz Woods, Mary Woods, Nicola Connolly, Fergal Browne, Michelle McMahon, Michelle Bible, Maresa Fitzhenry, Joanne Buggy, Vivienne O’Neill and Niamh Broderick worked in conjunction with Pallas Marketing from February 2016 until November. It was through the committee’s hard work and determination that they managed to secure 8 Major Sponsors to sponsor the event and 127 local businesses to take out advertisements on the night of the show. They also managed secure lots of raffle, spot prizes and door prizes for the night and items for a fun Auction that was held at the end of the night.

The following people were selected to play the game Barry Harmon €100, Roseanne Dowling €200, Brian Rowan €550, Teresa Maher €150, Leah Carroll €400, Terrence Cassidy Jnr. €500, Ciara Woods €250 and Tommy Fitzharris Jnr. €150. Therefore, the total prize money given out on the night was €2300.

We are delighted to announce that the final total of money raised from this event is €24, 246.64. This is a phenomenal amount of money to have been raised and the “20K Drop Committee” would like to acknowledge that they couldn’t have raised this money without the support of the many parents of Bennekerry National School who agreed to become Major Sponsors and Advertisers of this event.

The Parents Association would like to say a big “Thank You” to everyone who bought tickets for the show and who bought raffle tickets on the night. All your support has contributed to this event being a wonderful success and helping us to raise this money which will be used to enhance the outdoor play facilities for all our children as well as buy sports equipment and IT equipment for the school. During the next few months the Parents Association will be working alongside The Board of Management and Ms. Doyle to ensure that the money will be spent wisely and we will get the best advice as to what facilities and play equipment that we can put in place that will cater for all ages from 5years up to 12 years. This will be done in a timely fashion and we will continue to keep you updated on our progress throughout the year.
