The Bennekerry Gardening club have been working very hard over the last few weeks and have been making the best of the nice weather!
In the last two weeks we have been working on our vegetable patches at the back of the school. Firstly, we cleared the beds of weeds and old bulbs and we prepared them for planting. Then the fun began!
So far we have planted drills of celery, carrots, beetroot and radishes. We have also built three wig-wams for growing peas in. These structures are made from bamboo and help the peas to climb and grow. We have also planted two beds of lettuce. We look forward to planting some colourful flowers in the next few weeks!
Hopefully the nice weather will stick around and we can get out and work some more (but that means more watering to be done!).
