Our school choir travelled to New Ross last week to take part in the Junior Choir section of this very prestigious competition. They performed two songs, “Stand Together” by Jim Papoulis and “Lightning” by Greg Gilpin. All who travelled to see them agreed that they put in an outstanding performance. They received very favourable comments from the judges and finished in a very creditable third place. Great credit goes to Mrs. Ann Brolly, who is our choral director, and also to Mrs. Bowe, Ms. Kenny, Ms. Whitney, Mrs. O Sullivan, Mrs. Ryan and Ms. Reidy who also help out on a weekly basis. The choir work extremely hard and we are lucky to have them perform for special occasions throughout the school year. Their next “outing” will be on June 15^th when they, the recorder groups and the brass ensemble will perform for the rest of the school in the morning and then for their parents at 2pm. What a treat we have in store!
