This has been a very successful week on the sporting front in Bennekerry N.S. Both our boys and girls teams took home the cup in this football competition which took place on Tuesday and Wednesday 22nd and 23rd May. This was, in fact, a “double double” as we won both finals last year also. Comhgháirdeas mór daoibh go léir and once, again great credit goes to Ms. Tomlinson and Mr. Curry.

In the last two weeks we have been working on our vegetable patches at the back of the school. Firstly, we cleared the beds of weeds and old bulbs and  we prepared them for planting. The "Bags to School" initiative which was organised by our very active Parents'Association was a great success. 307 bags were collected in total. Thank you so much to those of you who kindly donated and a huge heartfelt thanks also to the parents who gave up their time to supervise the drop offs and collections. All monies raised will be put to good use and we have already purchased new equipment which will help in implementing the Aistear programme in the Infant classes.
